The Sober Companion
By Manolo the ShoebloggerManolo says, from the Manolo’s friends at the WizbangPop comes this most interesting news about Owen Wilson.
In Touch magazine reports the twice rehabbed stallion is resisting family and friends urging to enter a facility and instead has hired a ’sober companion’ at the rate of $750.00 a day. And what’s the companion do? Follow the star around and make sure he doesn’t shoot up of course!
The per diem rate assures Owen a companion who will do ‘whatever’s necessary’ to keep him from using. A companion can also counsel and [provide] transportation to and from all destinations.
If this is not the perfect plot for the comedy the Manolo does not know what is!
Now, the only question is, who should play the “Sober Companion”?

Me, baby, ME! I’ll keep that skanktard Kate Hudson away from my precious Butterscotch Stallion!

Y’know, sometimes, when your overindulged teenage boy goes wrong, and you send him to military school, it all works out in the end.
And sometimes, he goes to Hollywood, becomes a famous movie star, goes down all the wrong paths, and ends up misty-eyed on the cover of “People” magazine before he’s even been through rehab.
So, good luck, Owen.

Sorry, I went all editorial there.
Ben Stiller. Or, Chris Tucker – now there’s some comedy gold just looking at you!

Hmmm, hiring somebody to be his conscience? Now there’s a healthy way to solve the problem.
That said, I’d be happy to accept $750 a day to follow him around.

Okay, that sounds like a good idea…
But what happens if Owen says, “Hey SC, I’ll give you $1000 to look the other way while I shoot up?”
Oooo…I think I may have just turned it into a “Film Noir.” Sorry to be a buzz kill!
(Oooo…bad joke…)

Robert Downey Jr, of course.
Although, that is a joke. I was very sad when he had his own troubles with drugs, as I think he’s an extremely talented actor. I love him in the trailer for the new Iron Man movie! Can’t wait to see that.
I feel very bad for poor Owen. And I don’t blame him, celeb rehab doesn’t seem to help that many people, and I think he has movies to work on. He might not be addicted, he may be depressed, which is not necessarily the same thing, making rehab the wrong treatment. Let’s leave poor Owen alone, other than supporting him by seeing his movies, the non-stupid ones, anyway. The Darjeeling Limited looks like it might be worth seeing.

For all those out there that haven’t been around AA or know much about it …sorry O-WIN gettin sober doesn’t work like that… you have a sponsor not a “companion”.. you have to help yourself …God these Hollywood Freaks are something else!!!

There is more than one way to skin a habit: twelve stepping is only ONE of the options, and in this case it would be Narconon, not AA.

Oprah! She’d talk him out of anything. But she doesn’t need $750 a day…
