Reese Witherspoon, not that type of girl
By Spirit FingersAs Hollywood’s highest paid actress, Reese Witherspoon can afford to demand that her onscreen loving be as chaste as her offscreen romance with Jake Gyllenhaal:
It’s been widely reported that Reese Witherspoon and Vince Vaughn can’t stop butting heads on the set of Four Christmases but apparently it was a scene where they’re supposed to bump uglies that really has Reese hot and bothered — but for all the wrong reasons. “Reese has an issue with the scripted love scene,” an on-set source tells PageSix.com. The sex scene is written as a funny, American Pie-style romp, but “Reese is such a prude, she thinks it’s just too much,” the insider adds.
American Pie wasn’t funny at all! It was dark and scary and Kevin Spacey got his brain shot to pieces…oh hang on. Anyway the point is Reese is very particular about what she does in front of the camera. Especially since that one unfortunate instance of unintentionally inappropriate body language that was captured for posterity and stories like this.

What about her appearance in the Mark Wahlberg class, Fear? She gets fingered on a roller coaster in that movie!! I sense some hypocrisy. http://movies.yahoo.com/movie/1800258471/info

I guess I really AM the only one who saw “Freeway.”

I saw and LOVED Freeway! As far as men go every boyfriend I ever had cheated on me and dumped me until I discovered an amazing book called Catch Him and Keep Him. It’s all the crazy hollyweird mentality!

Not spammy at all, Rachel. Carry on.
Freeway was gruesome. I heart Kiefer. I heart Reese. I heart Brooke. But, please, Freeway was gruesome. Saying you loved it would be like saying you thought Heart of Darkness was a fabulously kicky story.

Freeway is usually absent from any list of the RW canon. I agree–it was a gruesome retelling of Little Red Riding Hood–but showed that its lead actress had oodles of sass.

Ditto. It was also a landmark in the Kiefer canon.

Agreed. But my crush for Kiefer has felt like an uphill battle since then, which I suppose is a tribute of sorts to his acting.
I remember “up and comer” Reese Witherspoon was told not to take Freeway, but she wouldn’t listen. She said it would be good for her career, because it was so against type. And it really, REALLY was. She’s got the chops, no question.
