Dolly is an American success story and God Bless her for it. She has worked very hard to improve from her humble beginnings . Dolly comes across as a warm, loving and active Christian through her many charities that she donates both her time & money. She has an amusement park and a cowgirl/boy horse performance arena nearby in the Tn. Smoky Mtns. and employs a lot of people, which in turn, pay taxes. She doesn’t take herself too seriously by her demonstrating jokes against herself; one has to be very ” secure ” in their own goodness to do that type of humor. She empitomises what it is to be a practicing ” Christian ” !

Dolly has more class in one bright-red fingernail than most starlets have in their entire body. She’s an absolute delight, a phenomenal songwriter and singer (I’ll never forgive Whitney Houston for destroying Dolly’s bittersweet, wistful, poignant “I Will Always Love You”), and a true lady.

Her cover of Stairway to Heaven is amazing, and no, I’m not joking.

I read a really fascinating interview with her in the book Starstruck by Michael Joseph Gross. She is quite a philosopher who has no illusions about what she does for a living and exactly what the world wants from her. She’s both down-to-earth and truly profound.

I mean, you couldn’t pay me to wear that dress, but, hey, it’s Dolly, she has a crazy-consistent personal style, and her clothes are beautifully fitted (are there no tailors in LA???). She makes it work for her somehow. And she does seem like a great person to have lunch with, or watch movies and eat carbohydrates on a “girls night in”, which is the most important thing.

Dolly is definitely someone I’d like to have lunch with. She is a funny, intelligent, no nonsense, hard working and modest gal who has a unique sense of style and doesn’t have to follow the crowd or have the crowd follow her. fashion-wise. In short, the very best sort of company there is. Bravo Dolly! As Tim Gunn might say, you make it work!

She is so interesting. Despite her ‘plastic’ exterior, she seems like such a real, genuine and honest person and someone who would be a good friend. She seems like a sweetheart. (That outfit is pretty fugly though).

I’ve adored Dolly since I was four. Up to the time I was seven, I wanted to look like her too – the clothes I mean. Now I just love her for her unique, beautiful voice and wonderful songs. Dolly is a class act all the way.
