Call me old-fashioned, but I’m sort of horrified at how many of those belong to women. Aw, heck, I’m horrified that they belong to anyone other than crusty ex-Marines who obtained them in exotic ports of call.

#5 looks fantastic — the artist definitely knew what he or she was doing.
And valawhoo? You’re old-fashioned. : ) But that’s cool, too. To each their own, right?

They’re all Diablo Cody.

@ La Petite Acadienne: No, I think valawhoo is so old-fashioned as to be ahead of the times. Tats, like all trends, have a lifespan and right now we’re on the far side of the bell curve, sinking fast. The biggest trend right now in body art is erasure.

Aren’t they all from the same 7 inch section of Amy Winehouse’s right bicep?

I’m sort of horrified that so many rich people went in for the “prison cell mate tattoo chic” and I’m sort of surprised that Paris Hilton’s not in the set considering that she’s actually been to the big house!

Dude! People are talking about me. My brother wanted a tattoo (”tats” is too close to another word for me) of “Cogito ergo sum.” I remember telling him, “I know it seems like a good idea now, but imagine what it will look like when you’re 70.”
I stand by my assessment.

It’ll look the same, only droopy, wrinkled, and horribly, horribly dated.

Valawhoo, I won’t call you old fashioned, but I will call you close minded. Tattoos can be beautiful, an expression of self, and art. I wouldn’t say the ones above are good examples, but a well-done tattoo is truly breathtaking.
And about how they’ll look when we’re 70? We’re all going to be old anyway, we can hardly hope to look youthful and unscarred. I hope that by then it won’t be so socially acceptable for people to comment on others’ appearances.
