Didn't the second wave start in the 1960s? In the meantime, countries all around the world have had female political leaders, even in some fairly conservative/Muslim countries. Yet here in the U.S., we still can't get past the idea of women being hysterical/emotional and having their poor little brains addled by PMS and menopause. I have a suggestion for Brooke: if she feels unable to make good decisions because of her own hormonal difficulties, she should feel free to not vote and to keep her mouth shut regarding political issues.
