Who wore it better?

It’s the battle of the actresses portraying aviatrixes, Amy Adams as Amelia Earhart vs Hilary Swank as Amelia Earhart! Who do you prefer - the pert, dolled up Amelia or the plucky boyish version?

I think Ms Swank is closer to reality than the Hollywood glam doll.

Yeah, Horseface is closer to the original Amelia.

Yes, but Ms Swank also has a masculine cast to her features that makes her rather unattractive in my view. Amy Adams might not be historically correct, but she is very cute. (And she was fabulous in “Junebug.”)

Hilary Swank actually looks a lot like the quite toothy Amelia. It’s the Preppy Amazon Archetype.

Hard to say. Ms. Earhart had more delicate features than Ms. Swank, but her demeanor was more boyish than that of Ms. Adams. All in all, though, I think Swank would do a better job.
And “Horseface”? C’mon — would you like seeing yourself referred to that way?

I lurve Hillary Swank. She is a fabulous actress and has embraced so many different and challenging roles. I really think she looks “real” instead of the same ole look that most starlets have. I have never watched Ms. Swank in a role that she did badly. This includes the valley girl that said “Get outta my facial!” in the Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Boys Don’t Cry, Million Dollar Baby, Iron Jawed Angels, etc… She’s successful without being predictable and “hollywood”.
