So near, yet so far

Well hello there!

How hair-wrenchingly annoying, to be thwarted by one’s party-pooping husband when the deliciously dapper Gerard Butler is at the same premiere after-party, just a few tantalising feet away even! You can bet there was plenty of sulking to deal with on the way home.

I didn't even get to see his abs

Thandie Newton, lithe and long-limbed

Ready for 2012

There must be more purpose to this daring getup than providing a gratuitous display of perfectly toned legs.  Perhaps she needs the freedom of movement to perform a complicated floor routine that will involve many jumps and split leaps? And maybe the missing strips of her dress will make an appearance during the ribbon twirling segment of the competition?

In between the feasting

At this point, I have trouble distinguishing between Al Pacino and one of Adam Sandler’s myriad movie disguises (this time, maybe as a simple-minded but lovable vagrant who defeats some evil rich folk and gets the streetwalker of his dreams in the end).  But I guess if you’ve just been to a highly enjoyable chili cook-off and are faced with the dilemma of trying to kill time until the next one, you might as well do it in your comfy clothes.

Ayyyy! Puzzle corner

This week’s challenge takes a decidedly personal twist with the theme of “Spirit Fingers’ Vacation Wishlist”.  Your task is to investigate the pictures below (click for a larger version) and not only identify the movie in question but also the place I would most like to visit.

Answers will be put up on Wednesday morning.  In the meantime I will be coping with post-holiday depression by planning imaginary itineraries in my head.

Bon voyage
