Claudia Schiffer, comeback wraith

The last time I saw Claudia Schiffer she was looking rather cadaverous and getting ready to point her bony finger at someone and speak an ancient Germanic curse that would banish them into eternal damnation.  But I guess hexing gets a bit mundane after a while, so now she’s back modelling for a Chanel photoshoot in St Tropez:

She became one of the world’s first supermodels when Karl Lagerfeld picked her to be the face of Chanel.

Now, 20 years later, Claudia Schiffer has been reunited with the style guru to front a new campaign for the fashion house.

The move marks the German model’s return to the front line of fashion after taking time off to look after her young children.

Karl is taking her comeback so seriously that he has even put Claudia in similarly printed attire to Kate Moss for YSL, so they can go head to head, fashion star against fashion star so to speak.  Whoever wins this battle of the Spring/Summer 2008 campaigns, this much is certain – now would be a good time for all of us to start digging around the home to locate those glow in the dark star pyjamas.
